Sippie Wallace was a classic blues singer of the '20s. She was a major influence on Bonnie Raitt, who is a major influence on me. Sippie was the one who wrote "women be wise" (see 2 posts below) as well as many other hit songs that were made even more famous by Bonnie Raitt.
This is her song, Mighty Tight Woman-- its phenomenal:
